EPSO competition calendar: open, announced and closed
No competition is currently open for applications for permanent staff; only CAST Permanent (contract agents) is open at all times.
AD 5 2026: the tests are split into two parts
On 30 June 2026, EPSO announced that the tests for the generalist administrator competition (AD 5) would be organised in two parts, a change communicated in a mere news item: the notice published in the Official Journal was not amended.
Part one: the reasoning tests (verbal, numerical, abstract), expected in October and November 2026. Part two, postponed to 2027: EU knowledge, digital skills and the EUFTE written test.
To be invited to part two, candidates need at least 10/20 in verbal reasoning and 10/20 in numerical and abstract reasoning combined. More than 170,000 applications were submitted for this competition.
