What changes compared with the AD 5 competition
Specialist cycle notices follow a common pattern that differs from the generalist competition on three decisive points.
No EU knowledge test and no digital skills test: those tests only exist for AD 5.
A field-related MCQ test specific to each cycle: this is the test that determines the final ranking.
Reasoning (verbal, numerical, abstract) remains the common entry filter, in the formats shown in the table below.
Findings verified against the published notice of each cycle (audit, ICT, data management, taxation), linked row by row in the table.
The composition of the most recent cycle
Official parameters of the latest closed cycle, as published in its notice; each new cycle publishes its own, and this page will follow.
Verbal reasoning
Numerical reasoning
Abstract reasoning
Field-related MCQ
EUFTE (written test)
The reasoning core is common to every specialist cycle: every week you start early counts, even before the notice is published.
How Erudiam prepares you
- Reasoning practice with the official parameters of the specialist cycles, including combined pass scores.
- Spaced repetition (FSRS) builds lasting skills, so you are ready as soon as the next notice is published.
- Field-related MCQ tests will be covered cycle by cycle, as each notice is published.

Frequently asked questions about specialist competitions
The EPSO schedule announces an ICT cycle (AD 8, AI and cybersecurity) and a lawyers cycle (AD 7), with indicative publication dates in late 2026, all marked “to be confirmed”.
No. Neither EU knowledge nor digital skills: those tests only exist for the AD 5 generalist competition. Specialist notices rest on reasoning and a field-related MCQ test.
A test unique to each cycle, covering the recruited field (audit, ICT, data, taxation...); it determines the final ranking of candidates who pass the reasoning filter.
Depending on the cycle: AD 6 (taxation 2025), AD 7 (audit, ICT, data management) and AD 8 announced for the 2026 ICT cycle. Each notice states its grade.
No for reasoning, which is common to every cycle and can be prepared right now; yes for the field-related MCQ test, whose exact scope is only known when the notice is published.
