EPSO assistant competitions (AST 3): cycles and preparation

A competition recruiting assistants, specialised support and execution functions, at grade AST 3 for recent cycles; each cycle targets precise profiles defined by its notice.

Notice EPSO/AST/157/25 targeted 435 laureates in communication, split across three profiles: graphic design (159), social media (150) and webmaster (126).

In the 2025 cycle: reasoning (verbal, numerical, abstract) as an eliminatory filter, a field-specific MCQ that drives the ranking, and the EUFTE written test; neither EU knowledge nor digital skills.

The EPSO planning announces a data management experts cycle (AST 3) with an indicative publication on 6 October 2026, date to be confirmed; the official notice has not yet been published.

In the 2025 cycle, yes: same formats as the standard battery (verbal 20 questions, numerical 10, abstract 10) and same pass marks, verbal 10/20 and numerical-abstract combined 10/20. Each notice remains sovereign.

The 2025 cycle tests were of the same type and at the same pass marks as the AD specialist ones; actual selectivity depends on the number of candidates per profile, which notices do not publish in advance.
