No competition is currently open for applications for permanent staff; only the CAST Permanent (contract agents) is open at all times.
On 30 June 2026, EPSO announced that the tests of the generalist administrators competition (AD 5) would be organised in two parts, a change made through a simple news item: the notice published in the Official Journal was not amended.
Part one: the reasoning tests (verbal, numerical, abstract), expected in October–November 2026. Part two, postponed to 2027: EU knowledge, digital skills and the EUFTE written test.
To be invited to part two, candidates need at least 10/20 in verbal reasoning and 10/20 combined in numerical + abstract. More than 170,000 applications were submitted for this competition.
